Dating to 1880 with a full Birmingham hallmark, this antique Silver locket is wonderfully detailed with ornamentation; the frontispiece in a pressed and hand engraved fashion and is very typical of the arcahaelogically inspired styling of the period. Roses to the centrepiece and fanciful molding to the surround, just beautiful!
The makers mark for Constantine & Floyd Ltd, Silversmiths of Caroline Street in the famous Birmingham jewellery quarter. This wonderful Victorian locket could be given as a special birthday gift holding as it has over the years, precious memories. It opens to hold two photographs. The locket is worn on a heavy Silver belcher link chain at 20 inches, but could be altered to wear as desired. It measures a touch over two inches including the bale.
